Samsung sure wasn't going to keep quiet this CES with a slew of new things, but one thing that couldn't be ignored was their new line of laptops they announced. The Galaxy Book4 Pro, Book4 Pro 360, and Book4 Ultra. Samsung's been in the Windows laptop game for a while now, but it wasn't until the first Galaxy Book (previously Samsung Notebook) where they really started getting competitive about it. While they had good Windows laptops before, they weren't doing nearly as much as they are now, when before they barely announced their Samsung Notebook 9 Pro (2019). Samsung continues their tradition of slim and light, yet powerful laptops. We've credited Samsung for that in the past with their Galaxy Books. The Galaxy Book4 Ultra only comes in 16 inches, but features up to an Intel Core Ultra 9. You can also downgrade to an Intel Core Ultra 7 Evo Edition. It also features up to an NVIDIA RTX 4070 laptop GPU, 64GB of RAM, 2 TB of SSD, Wi-Fi 6E (no Wi-Fi 7 yet) and Bluetooth 5.3. The Galaxy Book4 Pro comes in both 14 and 16 inches and sports up to an Intel Core Ultra 7 Evo Edition, Intel Arc Graphics, up to 32GB of RAM, 1 TB of SSD storage, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. And lastly, the Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 comes in only 16 inches and sports up to a Intel Core Ultra 7, Intel Arc Graphics, 32GB of RAM, 1 TB SSD, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. It's unfortunate to see Samsung gatekeeping a lot of features in only the 16 inch model, but it's understandable that it's possible with the extra. Then again, if you look at the MacBook Pro even though it has an entirely different architecture, Apple's able to do a lot with a 14" model. I'm personally more of a 14" laptop guy. Samsung is also known for not bringing a lot of these specs to the United States for some odd reason, so it's yet to be seen if they will. Samsung goes all in on their ecosystem with the Galaxy Book4 seriesSamsung has made it clear that they want their Galaxy Books to be a big part of their ecosystem, and they're going all in with the Galaxy Book4. It's still not perfect and not everything is available yet, but this is the first area we came to look with their new laptops. New apps can be seen such as Phone, continue apps on other devices, and Samsung Studio. Samsung also showed off how you can use the same feature as your Galaxy phone and tablet where if you're on your phone, but switch over to playing audio on your Galaxy Tab with your Galaxy Buds in, it'll automatically switch over to the Galaxy Book now. As far as we know, this already happens, but this could be a feature on Microsoft's end with Windows already and not necessarily Samsung. Samsung (kinda) addresses the overheatingSamsung has actually been sued over their Galaxy Books overheating as reported by SamMobile, so when we asked about it, Samsung says they added an 11% wider vaper chamber, and a dual fan with an uneven blade spacing design (couldn't tell you in a million years what that's supposed to mean, but alright). Whether that actually means anything in the real world is yet to be seen as we've ran into the same problem with both their Galaxy Book Pro 360 and Galaxy Book3 laptops from the past. Samsung said they also have taken steps to reduce heat and fan noise overall. Samsung's first launched these January 2nd in Korea with a gradual rollout to other countries later. Pricing starts at 1.88 million won ($1,452 USD) for the Galaxy Book4 Pro, 2.59 million won ($2,002 USD) for the Galaxy Book4 Pro 360, and 3.36 million won ($2,597 USD) for the Galaxy Book4 Ultra. Keep in mind these are prices for Korea, and don't necessarily reflect pricing for the US.
